Journal ArticleDOI
The 2019-2020 EURADOS WG10 and RENEB Field Test of Retrospective Dosimetry Methods in a Small-Scale Incident Involving Ionizing Radiation.
Lovisa Waldner,Christian Bernhardsson,Clemens Woda,F. Trompier,O. van Hoey,Ulrike Kulka,Ursula Oestreicher,C. Bassinet,Christopher Rääf,Michael Discher,David Endesfelder,Jonathan Eakins,E. Gregoire,Andrzej Wojcik,Y. Ristic,H. Kim,Jungil Lee,H. Yu,M. C. Kim,Michael Abend,Elizabeth A. Ainsbury +20 more
TL;DR: In 2019, a field test with the purpose of evaluating retrospective dosimetry methods as carried out in potential real-life exposure scenarios was organized by the EURADOS Working Group 10 and RENEB as discussed by the authors, where a 1.36 TBq 192Ir source was used to irradiate anthropomorphic phantoms in different geometries at doses of several Gy.
Journal ArticleDOI
RENEB/EURADOS field exercise 2019: robust dose estimation under outdoor conditions based on the dicentric chromosome assay.
David Endesfelder,Ursula Oestreicher,Ulrike Kulka,Elizabeth A. Ainsbury,Jayne Moquet,Stephen Barnard,Eric Gregoire,Juan S. Martinez,François Trompier,Yoann Ristic,Clemens Woda,Lovisa Waldner,Christina Beinke,Anne Vral,Joan Francesc Barquinero,Alfredo Hernandez,Sylwester Sommer,Katalin Lumniczky,Rita Hargitai,Alegría Montoro,Mirta Milić,Octávia Monteiro Gil,M. Valente,Laure Bobyk,Olga Sevriukova,Laure Sabatier,Laure Sabatier,María Jesús Prieto,Mercedes Moreno Domene,Antonella Testa,Clarice Patrono,Georgia I. Terzoudi,Sotiria Triantopoulou,Rositsa Histova,Andrzej Wojcik,Andrzej Wojcik +35 more
TL;DR: In this article, the dicentric chromosome assay (DCA) results were homogeneous between participants and matched well with the reference doses (≥95% of estimates within ± 0.5 Gy of the reference).
Journal ArticleDOI
Inter-laboratory comparison of gene expression biodosimetry for protracted radiation exposures as part of the RENEB and EURADOS WG10 2019 exercise.
Michael Abend,Sally A. Amundson,Christophe Badie,Kamil Brzóska,Rita Hargitai,Ralf Kriehuber,Simone Schüle,Enikő Kis,Shanaz A. Ghandhi,Katalin Lumniczky,Shad R. Morton,Grainne O’Brien,Dominik Oskamp,Patrick Ostheim,C. Siebenwirth,Igor Shuryak,T. Szatmári,Marcus Unverricht-Yeboah,Elizabeth A. Ainsbury,C. Bassinet,Ulrike Kulka,Ursula Oestreicher,Y. Ristic,François Trompier,Andrzej Wojcik,Lovisa Waldner,Matthias Port +26 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the results of the 2019 RENEB (Running the European Network of Biodosimetry) 2019 exercise where four EDTA-blood samples were exposed to an Iridium-192 source (1.36 TBq, Tech-Ops 880 Sentinal) at varying distances and geometries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Physical and dosimetric properties of NaCl pellets made in-house for the use in prospective optically stimulated luminescence dosimetry applications
TL;DR: In this article, NaCl pellets are produced from ordinary household salt using simple and accessible methods, for the purpose of suggesting a cost-effective and available tool for various optically stimulated luminescence dosimetry applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
NaCl pellets for prospective dosimetry using optically stimulated luminescence: Signal integrity and long-term versus short-term exposure
TL;DR: The results of this study show that the use of NaCl pellets for prospective dosimetry is a promising, cost-effective, and accessible complement to commercially available alternatives for accurate absorbed dose determinations.
