Journal ArticleDOI
157 effect of fsh starvation (coasting) following superovulation on oocyte competence and cloning efficiency in goats
C. E. Méndez-Calderón,C. R. Lazzarotto,L. H. Aguiar,Felipe Ledur Ongaratto,Felipe Ledur Ongaratto,Kaio César Simiano Tavares,Matheus Soares Alves,S. Gaudencio-Neto,Louhanna Pinheiro Rodrigues Teixeira,L. T. Martins,R. A. A. Dantas,José Luiz Rodrigues,Luciana Relly Bertolini,Luciana Relly Bertolini,Marcelo Bertolini,Marcelo Bertolini +15 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of coasting after exogenous FSH stimulation on goat oocyte quality and competence to support in vitro maturation and in vivo embryo development following cloning procedures in goats.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of oocyte source, cell origin, and embryo reconstruction procedures on in vitro and in vivo embryo survival after goat cloning
Cristiano Feltrin,L. H. Aguiar,Carlos Enrique Méndez Calderón,I. S. Carneiro,Felipe de Jesus Moraes Junior,Josiane da Silva Quetz,Aldo Ângelo Moreira Lima,Matthew B. Wheeler,Davide Rondina,José Luiz Rodrigues,James D. Murray,Elizabeth A. Maga,Luciana Relly Bertolini,Luciana Relly Bertolini,Marcelo Bertolini,Marcelo Bertolini +15 more
TL;DR: Although most pregnancies were lost, the birth of a cloned female was obtained from embryos reconstructed by micromanipulation using non-transgenic control cells and in vitro-matured oocytes with intact zona pellucida, after conventional activation and transfer at the 1-cell stage.
Journal Article
Comparative expression profiles of genes related to cellular stress and development in oocyte of goats fed with distinct concentrations of lipids
Juliana Paula Martins Alves,César Carneiro Linhares Fernandes,Cícera Regina Lazzaroto,L. H. Aguiar,Carlos Enrique Méndez Calderón,Kaio César Simiano Tavares,A.M. Silva,Luciana Relly Bertolini,Marcelo Bertolini,Davide Rondina +9 more
TL;DR: The results showed, for the first time in goats, the gene response of oocytes according to a defined range of dietary lipid concentration, may affect plasma concentrations of cholesterol, triglycerides and total lipids, as well as the expression of genes related to the accumulation of intracellular lipid, however the inclusion of high lipid diet, did not allow significant effects on the expression to stress.
Journal Article
Produção de proteínas terapêuticas recombinantes em animais geneticamente modificados: o surgimento de uma nova era
L. T. Martins,Kaio César Simiano Tavares,Louhanna Pinheiro Rodrigues Teixeira,Francisco Eder de Moura Lopes,Saul Gaudencio Neto,Carlos Enrique Méndez Calderón,L. H. Aguiar,I. S. Carneiro,Cicera R. Lazzarotto,Marcelo Bertolini,Luciana Relly Bertolini +10 more
Journal Article
In vitro development and cell allocation after aggregation of syngeneic wild type and fluorescence-expressing bovine cloned embryos
F. K. Vieira,Fabiana Forell,R. P. C. Gerger,L. H. Aguiar,Cristiano Feltrin,Saul Gaudencio Neto,Carlos Enrique Méndez Calderón,I. S. Carneiro,Fabiana Fernandes Bressan,Monica Urio,Ubirajara Maciel da Costa,Luciana Relly Bertolini,Flávio Vieira Meirelles,Marcelo Bertolini +13 more
TL;DR: The use of GFP-expressing cells was proven a promising strategy for the study of cell allocation during embryo development, which may assist in the elucidation of mechanisms of abnormalities after in vitro embryo manipulations, leading to the development of improved protocols for the in vitro production of bovine embryos.
