Journal ArticleDOI
Characterizing the V-band light-curves of hydrogen-rich type II supernovae
Joseph P. Anderson,Joseph P. Anderson,Santiago González-Gaitán,Mario Hamuy,Mario Hamuy,Claudia P. Gutiérrez,Claudia P. Gutiérrez,Maximilian Stritzinger,E Felipe Olivares,Mark M. Phillips,Steve Schulze,R. Antezana,Luis Bolt,Abdo Campillay,S. Castellon,Carlos Contreras,Thomas de Jaeger,Thomas de Jaeger,Gastón Folatelli,F. Forster,Wendy L. Freedman,Luis González,Eric Hsiao,Wojtek Krzeminski,Kevin Krisciunas,José Maza,Patrick J. McCarthy,Nidia Morrell,S. E. Persson,M. Roth,Francisco Salgado,Nicholas B. Suntzeff,Joanna Thomas-Osip +32 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the diversity of V-band light-curves of hydrogen-rich type II supernovae was analyzed and a relation between the decline rate during the 'plateau' phase and peak magnitudes was found, which has a dispersion of 0.56 mag.

A HUBBLE DIAGRAM from TYPE II SUPERNOVAE BASED SOLELY on PHOTOMETRY: The PHOTOMETRIC COLOR METHOD

Freedman,Eric Hsiao,Eric Hsiao,Eric Hsiao,Kevin Krisciunas,Wojtek Krzeminski,Hanindyo Kuncarayakti,Hanindyo Kuncarayakti,Nidia Morrell,S. E. Persson,Nicholas B. Suntzeff +31 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a Hubble diagram of type II supernovae using corrected magnitudes derived only from photometry, with no input of spectral information, using a data set from the Carnegie Supernovae Project I (CSP) for which optical and near-infrared light-curves were obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Hubble diagram from Type II Supernovae based solely on photometry: the Photometric-Colour Method
T. de Jaeger,Santiago González-Gaitán,J. P. Anderson,Lluís Galbany,Mario Hamuy,M. M. Phillips,Maximilian Stritzinger,Claudia P. Gutiérrez,Luis Bolt,Christopher R. Burns,A. Campillay,S. Castellon,C. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a Hubble diagram of type II supernovae using corrected magnitudes derived only from photometry, with no input of spectral information, and obtained a dispersion of 0.44 mag using a combination of the $(V-i)$ colour and the $r$ band and were able to reduce the dispersion to 0.39 mag using our golden sample.
