Regular exercise, anxiety, depression and personality: A population-based study
TL;DR: This study corroborates and extends previous findings: regular exercise is cross-sectionally associated with lower neuroticism, anxiety and depression and higher extraversion and sensation seeking in the population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies for personality

TL;DR: A meta-analysis of genome-wide association data for personality in 10 discovery samples and five in silico replication samples confirmed the association of KATNAL2 to Conscientiousness, although the direction of effect of the KATnAL2 SNP on Cons conscientiousness was consistent in all replication samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
The association between exercise participation and well-being: A co-twin study.
TL;DR: Exercisers were more satisfied with their life and happier than non-exercisers at all ages and this association appears to be mediated by genetic factors that influence both exercise behavior and well-being.
Journal ArticleDOI
Meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies identifies common variants in CTNNA2 associated with excitement-seeking

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identified a genome-wide significant association between the Revised NEO Personality Inventory and rs7600563 (P=2 × 10−8), a single-nucleotide polymorphism mapped within the catenin cadherin-associated protein, alpha 2 (CTNNA2), which encodes for a brain-expressed α-catenin critical for synaptic contact.
Journal ArticleDOI
From prenatal anxiety to parenting stress: a longitudinal study
Anja C. Huizink,B. Menting,M.H.M. de Moor,M.L. Verhage,F.C. Kunseler,Carlo Schuengel,Mirjam Oosterman +6 more
TL;DR: How maternal mood during pregnancy predicted parenting stress 3 months after giving birth, thereby shaping the child’s early postnatal environmental circumstances, was explored.
