Journal ArticleDOI
Muscular dystrophy and neuronal migration disorder caused by mutations in a glycosyltransferase, POMGnT1.
Aruto Yoshida,Kazuhiro Kobayashi,Hiroshi Manya,Kiyomi Taniguchi,Hiroki Kano,Mamoru Mizuno,Toshiyuki Inazu,Hideyo Mitsuhashi,Seiichiro Takahashi,Makoto Takeuchi,Ralf Herrmann,Volker Straub,Beril Talim,Thomas Voit,Haluk Topaloglu,Tatsushi Toda,Tamao Endo +16 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that interference in O-mannosyl glycosylation is a new pathomechanism for muscular dystrophy as well as neuronal migration disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a Post-translational Modification with Ribitol-Phosphate and Its Defect in Muscular Dystrophy
Motoi Kanagawa,Kazuhiro Kobayashi,Michiko Tajiri,Hiroshi Manya,Atsushi Kuga,Yoshiki Yamaguchi,Keiko Akasaka-Manya,Jun-ichi Furukawa,Mamoru Mizuno,Hiroko Kawakami,Yasuro Shinohara,Yoshinao Wada,Tamao Endo,Tatsushi Toda +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that enzyme activities of three major α-dystroglycanopathy-causing proteins are involved in the synthesis of tandem Rbo5P, a phosphoric ester of pentose alcohol in α-DG.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of a Glycopeptide Containing Oligosaccharides: Chemoenzymatic Synthesis of Eel Calcitonin Analogues Having Natural N-Linked Oligosaccharides
Mamoru Mizuno,Katsuji Haneda,Reiko Iguchi,Ikuyo Muramoto,Toru Kawakami,Saburo Aimoto,Kenji Yamamoto,Toshiyuki Inazu +7 more
TL;DR: A novel chemoenzymatic synthesis of eel calcitonin (eCT) glycopeptide analogues having natural N-linked oligosaccharides, such as a disialo biantennary complex-type, an asialo complex- type, and a high-mannose type as model compounds for glycoprotein synthesis are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Biomimetic Silk Fibroin/Sodium Alginate Composite Scaffold for Soft Tissue Engineering
Yiyu Wang,Xinyu Wang,Jian Shi,Rong Zhu,Junhua Zhang,Zongrui Zhang,Daiwei Ma,Yuanjing Hou,Fei Lin,Jing Yang,Mamoru Mizuno +10 more
TL;DR: The suitable pore structure and improved equilibrium swelling capacity of this scaffold could imitate biochemical cues of natural skin ECMs for guiding spatial organization and proliferation of cells in vitro, indicating its potential candidate material for soft tissue engineering.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uniaxial Ratchetting of 316FR Steel at Room Temperature— Part I: Experiments
TL;DR: In this article, the cyclic tension tests reveal that very slight opening of hysteresis loops occurs, and that neither accumulated plastic strain nor maximum plastic strain induces significant isotropic hardening if strain range is relatively small.
