Journal ArticleDOI

H-2 formation on PAHs in photodissociation regions: a high-temperature pathway to molecular hydrogen

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on total H2 formation rates in photodissociation regions (PDRs) and assess the effect of these formation rates on the total cloud structure.
Journal ArticleDOI

The formation of massive primordial stars in the presence of moderate uv backgrounds

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of UV radiation on fragmentation in primordial halos of a few times 10{sup 7} M {sub ☉] was explored by performing high-resolution cosmological simulations for two distinct halos and vary the strength of the impinging background UV field in units of J {sub 21} assuming a blackbody radiation spectrum with a characteristic temperature of T {sub rad} = 10-sup 4} K.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Stellar Mass Spectrum in Warm and Dusty Gas: Deviations from Salpeter in the Galactic Centre and in Circum-Nuclear Starburst Regions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the first numerical hydrodynamical calculations of stars formed in a molecular region with chemical and thermodynamic properties similar to those of warm and dusty circum-nuclear starburst regions.
