Multimodal MRI of Grey Matter, White Matter, and Functional Connectivity in Cognitively Healthy Mutation Carriers at Risk for Frontotemporal Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease
Rogier A. Feis,Rogier A. Feis,Mark J. R. J. Bouts,Elise G.P. Dopper,Nicola Filippini,Verena Heise,Aaron J. Trachtenberg,John C. van Swieten,Mark A. van Buchem,Jeroen van der Grond,Clare E. Mackay,Serge A.R.B. Rombouts +11 more
TL;DR: MRI scans in cognitively healthy subjects with and without microtubule-associated protein Tau (MAPT) or progranulin (GRN) mutations were acquired to investigate whether divergent differences in grey matter volume, white matter diffusion, and functional connectivity are already apparent between Cognitively healthy carriers of pathogenic FTD mutations, and cognitivelyhealthy carriers at increased AD risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Parameters of glucose metabolism and the aging brain: a magnetization transfer imaging study of brain macro- and micro-structure in older adults without diabetes.
Abimbola A. Akintola,Annette van den Berg,Irmhild Altmann-Schneider,Steffy W. Jansen,Mark A. van Buchem,P. Eline Slagboom,Rudi G. J. Westendorp,Rudi G. J. Westendorp,Diana van Heemst,Jeroen van der Grond +9 more
TL;DR: While higher glucose was associated with macro- Structural damage, impaired insulin action was associated more strongly with reduced micro-structural brain parenchymal homogeneity, and some insight is offered into the association between different parameters of glucose metabolism and brain aging.
Journal ArticleDOI
DISC1 gene and affective psychopathology: A combined structural and functional MRI study
Esther M. Opmeer,Marie-José van Tol,Rudie Kortekaas,Nic J.A. van der Wee,Nic J.A. van der Wee,Saskia Woudstra,Mark A. van Buchem,Mark A. van Buchem,Brenda W.J.H. Penninx,Brenda W.J.H. Penninx,Brenda W.J.H. Penninx,Dick J. Veltman,Dick J. Veltman,André Aleman,André Aleman +14 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that Ser704Cys-genotype influences (para)hippocampal structure and functioning the dorsal PFC during executive planning, most prominently in unaffected controls, and results suggest that presence of psychopathology moderates Ser701Cys effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Annular erythema of Sjögren's syndrome
Journal Article
Instrumental investigations in primary headache. An updated review and new perspectives.
Lars Friberg,Giorgio Sandrini,Wilfrid Jänig,Rigmor Jensen,David Russell,Maria Sanchez Del Rio,Trond Sand,Jean Schoenen,Mark A. van Buchem,J. Gert van Dijk +9 more
TL;DR: Many of the most important literature references relevant to neurophysiological investigations in clinical practice are reviewed and the prospects for future research are looked at.
