Chemical depletion in the Large Magellanic Cloud: RV Tauri stars and the photospheric feedback from their dusty discs. ?
Clio Gielen,H. Van Winckel,Maarten Reyniers,Albert A. Zijlstra,T. Lloyd Evans,Karl D. Gordon,Francisca Kemper,Remy Indebetouw,Remy Indebetouw,Massimo Marengo,Mikako Matsuura,Margaret Meixner,Gregory C. Sloan,Alexander G. G. M. Tielens,Paul M. Woods +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the photospheric abundances of 4 RV Tauri stars in the LMC were studied and the depletion pattern of refractory elements, seen in similar Galactic sources, is also common for extragalactic sources.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anomalous Silicate Dust Emission in the Type 1 LINER Nucleus of M81
Howard A. Smith,Aigen Li,M. P. Li,M. Koehler,M. L. N. Ashby,Giovanni G. Fazio,J. S. Huang,Massimo Marengo,Zhong Lin Wang,Steven P. Willner,Andreas Zezas,Luigi Spinoglio,Yanqin Wu +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) instrument on Spitzer to determine the feature in the central 230 pc of M81 to be in strong emission, with a peak at 10.5\mum.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Wide-field Near- and Mid-Infrared Census of Young Stars in NGC 6334
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a study of the rate and efficiency of star formation in the NGC 6334 star forming region using the NOAO Extremely Wide-Field Infrared Imager (NEWFIRM) and combined them with observations taken with the Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) camera on the Spitzer Space Telescope at wavelengths ≤ 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and 8.0 µm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical Limb Darkening for Pulsating Cepheids
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a method to compute time and wavelength-dependent center-to-limb brightness distributions for classical Cepheids by using second-order accurate one-dimensional hydrodynamic calculations performed in spherical geometry.
