Radiofrequency Ablation in Barrett's Esophagus with Dysplasia
Nicholas J. Shaheen,Prateek Sharma,Bergein F. Overholt,Herbert C. Wolfsen,Richard E. Sampliner,Kenneth K. Wang,Joseph A. Galanko,Mary P. Bronner,John R. Goldblum,Ana E. Bennett,Blair A. Jobe,Glenn M. Eisen,M. Brian Fennerty,John G. Hunter,David E. Fleischer,Virender K. Sharma,Robert H. Hawes,Brenda J. Hoffman,Richard I. Rothstein,Stuart R. Gordon,Hiroshi Mashimo,Kenneth J. Chang,V. Raman Muthusamy,Steven A. Edmundowicz,Stuart J. Spechler,Ali A. Siddiqui,Rhonda F. Souza,Anthony Infantolino,Gary W. Falk,Michael B. Kimmey,Ryan D. Madanick,Amitabh Chak,Charles J. Lightdale +32 more
TL;DR: In patients with dysplastic Barrett's esophagus, radiofrequency ablation was associated with a high rate of complete eradication of both dysplasia and intestinal metaplasia, and a reduced risk of disease progression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gold nanocages: bioconjugation and their potential use as optical imaging contrast agents.
Jingyi Chen,Fusayo Saeki,Benjamin J. Wiley,Hu Cang,Michael J. Cobb,Zhi-Yuan Li,Leslie Au,Hui Zhang,Michael B. Kimmey,Xingde Li,Younan Xia +10 more
TL;DR: By controlling the molar ratio between Ag and HAuCl4, the gold nanocages could be tuned to display surface plasmon resonance peaks around 800 nm, a wavelength commonly used in optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging.
Journal ArticleDOI
DNA aneuploidy in colonic biopsies predicts future development of dysplasia in ulcerative colitis.
Cyrus E. Rubin,Rodger C. Haggitt,Rodger C. Haggitt,Rodger C. Haggitt,Glenna C. Burmer,Glenna C. Burmer,Glenna C. Burmer,Teresa A. Brentnall,Teresa A. Brentnall,Teresa A. Brentnall,Allyn C. Kimmey,David R. Perera,David R. Perera,David R. Perera,Peter S. Rabinovitch,Peter S. Rabinovitch,Peter S. Rabinovitch +27 more
TL;DR: It was concluded that more frequent and extensive colonoscopic surveillance of this minority subset of high risk patients and less frequent surveillance in the remaining majority may reduce cost and detect more curable lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neostigmine for the Treatment of Acute Colonic Pseudo-Obstruction
TL;DR: Clinical response was recorded as prompt evacuation of flatus or stool and a reduction in abdominal distention, abdominal circumference, and measurements of the colon on radiographs, and a physician who was unaware of the patients' treatment assignments recorded clinical response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ursodiol Use Is Associated with Lower Prevalence of Colonic Neoplasia in Patients with Ulcerative Colitis and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis
Bruce Y. Tung,Mary J. Emond,Rodger C. Haggitt,Mary P. Bronner,Michael B. Kimmey,Kris V. Kowdley,Teresa A. Brentnall +6 more
TL;DR: Whether ursodiol use is associated with lower risk for colonic dysplasia, the precursor to colon cancer, in patients with ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis is sought.
