Modification of bafilomycin structure to efficiently synthesize solid-state NMR probes that selectively bind to vacuolar-type ATPase
Hajime Shibata,Hiroshi Tsuchikawa,Tatsuru Hayashi,Nobuaki Matsumori,Nobuaki Matsumori,Michio Murata,Takeo Usui +6 more
TL;DR: Biological evaluation revealed that the activity of 24-F-Baf was comparable to that of Baf, indicating its utility as a potential probe for solid-state NMR analysis, and desmethylated 24-Fs exhibited markedly diminished activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct observation of binding between biotinylated okadaic acids and protein phosphatase 2A monitored by surface plasmon resonance
TL;DR: Two biotin conjugates of okadaic acid revealed strong binding affinity to the enzyme, while C1-biotinylated derivative being devoid of affinity, implying that the C7- biotin conjugate is a useful tool for biochemical studies of protein phosphatase 2A.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sterol-dependent membrane association of the marine sponge-derived bicyclic peptide Theonellamide A as examined by 1H NMR.
Kimberly Cornelio,Rafael A. Espiritu,Yasuto Todokoro,Shinya Hanashima,Masanao Kinoshita,Nobuaki Matsumori,Michio Murata,Shinichi Nishimura,Hideaki Kakeya,Minoru Yoshida,Shigeki Matsunaga +10 more
TL;DR: Light is shed on the atomistic mechanism accounting for the membrane-disrupting activity of TNM-A and the important role of cholesterol in its mechanism of action.
Journal ArticleDOI
Convergent Synthesis of the A-J Ring System of Yessotoxin
TL;DR: In this paper, a highly convergent synthesis of the A-J ring system of yessotoxin was achieved, where a convergent strategy via a-cyano ethers was extensively applied in the assembly of the F and IJ ring frag- ments to afford the FGHIJ ring unit, followed by coupling with the ABC ring unit.
