Journal ArticleDOI

Tuning Interior Nanogaps of Double-shelled Au/Ag Nanoboxes for Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering

TL;DR: The SERS of the double-shelled nanoboxes increase significantly with the decrease of gap size, consistent with the theoretical prediction that smaller gap size induces larger localized electromagnetic enhancement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plasmon-Enhanced Fluorescence in Coupled Nanostructures and Applications in DNA Detection

TL;DR: A systematic study on the influence of different factors on plasmon coupling-enhanced fluorescence, including shape and size of metal NPs, dye distribution, and separation distance, found Au@Ag NSs to give the largest fluorescence enhancement effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

High sensitivity molecule detection by plasmonic nanoantennas with selective binding at electromagnetic hotspots.

TL;DR: Both optical characterization using a dark field microscope and the FDTD simulation show that after the streptavidin binding, the signal increases with decreasing gap size, which is promising with respect to the future detection of single molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mimicking optical activity for generating radially polarized light.

TL;DR: Using Poincaré sphere representation, it is shown that the polarization transformation of such a scheme is equivalent to that of a spirally varying optical activity and is capable of generating radially polarized light.
