Role of Solvent and Effect of Substituent on Azobenzene Isomerization by Using Room-Temperature Ionic Liquids as Reaction Media.
TL;DR: The calculated cis population in the photostationary state and the hardness parameter η of the trans isomer show that azobenzene and F-azobenzenes are the less reactive molecules for the trans-cis conversion in all the investigated ionic liquids.
Journal ArticleDOI
ZMYND8-regulated IRF8 transcription axis is an acute myeloid leukemia dependency
Zhendong Cao,Krista A. Budinich,Hua Huang,Diqiu Ren,Bin Lu,Zhen Zhang,Qingzhou Chen,Yeqiao Zhou,Yu-Han Huang,Fatemeh Alikarami,Molly C. Kingsley,Alexandra Lenard,Aoi Wakabayashi,Aoi Wakabayashi,Eugene Khandros,Eugene Khandros,Will Bailis,Jun Qi,Martin Carroll,Gerd A. Blobel,Gerd A. Blobel,Robert B. Faryabi,Kathrin M. Bernt,Kathrin M. Bernt,Shelley L. Berger,Junwei Shi +25 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discover and characterize the mechanism by which the chromatin "reader" ZMYND8 directly activates IRF8 in parallel with the MYC proto-oncogene through their lineage-specific enhancers.
Journal ArticleDOI
JMJD6 cleaves MePCE to release positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) in higher eukaryotes
Schuyler Lee,Haolin Liu,Ryan C. Hill,Chunjing Chen,Xia Hong,Frances Crawford,Molly C. Kingsley,Molly C. Kingsley,Qianqian Zhang,Xinjian Liu,Zhongzhou Chen,Andreas Lengeling,Kathrin Maria Bernt,Kathrin Maria Bernt,Philippa Marrack,John W. Kappler,Qiang Zhou,Chuan-Yuan Li,Yuhua Xue,Kirk C. Hansen,Gongyi Zhang +20 more
TL;DR: Methylphosphate capping enzyme (MePCE) is revealed as the cognate substrate for Jumonji domain-containing 6 (JMJD6)’s novel proteolytic function and it is proposed that JMJD6 assists bromodomain containing 4 (BRD4) to recruit P-TEFb to Pol II CTD by disrupting the 7SK snRNP complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
An aromatic cage is required but not sufficient for binding of Tudor domains of the Polycomblike protein family to H3K36me3
Jovylyn Gatchalian,Molly C. Kingsley,Stacey D Moslet,Ruben D Rosas Ospina,Tatiana G. Kutateladze +4 more
TL;DR: It is found that the methyl lysine-binding aromatic cage is necessary but not sufficient for recognition of H3K36me3 by these Tudor domains and that a hydrophobic patch, adjacent to the aromatic cage, is also required.
Journal ArticleDOI
Menin is necessary for long term maintenance of meningioma-1 driven leukemia.
Clara Libbrecht,Hongbo Xie,Molly C. Kingsley,Jessica Haladyna,Simone S. Riedel,Fatemeh Alikarami,Alexandra Lenard,Gerard M. McGeehan,Patricia Ernst,Kathrin M. Bernt,Kathrin M. Bernt +10 more
TL;DR: This paper showed that Menin (Men1) is also critical for the self-renewal of MN1-driven acute myeloid leukemias (AML) through the maintenance of a distinct gene expression program.
