Journal ArticleDOI
Rabbit F(ab')2 antihuman IgE is a universal skin test reagent in the evaluation of skin mast cell degranulation in vivo.
Michael E. Weiss,Patricia Trent,Robert S. Fisher,Philip S. Norman,W.E. Waterbury,N. Franklin Adkinson +5 more
TL;DR: Skin reactivity to codeine phosphate (a non-IgE-dependent secretagogue) was correlated with skin reactivity for the entire population, suggesting that in vivo skin mast cell degranulation is partially a function of mast cell releasability.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of self-identified race on epidemiologic studies of gene expression.
Sunita Sharma,Amy Murphy,Judie A. Howrylak,Judie A. Howrylak,Blanca E. Himes,Michael H. Cho,Jen-Hwa Chu,Gary M. Hunninghake,Anne L. Fuhlbrigge,Barbara J. Klanderman,John Ziniti,Jody Senter-Sylvia,Andrew H. Liu,Stanley J. Szefler,Robert C. Strunk,Mario Castro,Nadia N. Hansel,Gregory B. Diette,Becky M. Vonakis,N. Franklin Adkinson,Vincent J. Carey,Benjamin A. Raby +21 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that self‐identified race is a critical confounding covariate in epidemiologic studies of gene expression and that, similar to genetic studies, careful consideration of self‐ identified race in gene expression profiling studies is needed to avoid spurious association.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative safety of intravenous Ferumoxytol versus Ferric Carboxymaltose for the Treatment of Iron Deficiency Anemia: rationale and study design of a randomized double-blind study with a focus on acute hypersensitivity reactions
N. Franklin Adkinson,William Strauss,Kristine Bernard,Robert F Kaper,Iain C. Macdougall,Julie Krop +5 more
TL;DR: FIRM will provide data on the comparative safety of ferumoxytol and FCM, two IV iron preparations with similar dosing schedules, focusing on moderate-to-severe hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, and moderate- to-severe hypotension.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of the influence of irrelevant IgE on allergic sensitivity to two independent allergens.
TL;DR: This finding suggests that in most atopic patients, the quantity of irrelevant IgE plays a relatively minor role in determining allergic sensitivity to a given allergen.
