Meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies of asthma in ethnically diverse North American populations

Dara G. Torgerson, +79 more
- 01 Sep 2011 -
TL;DR: The results suggest that some asthma susceptibility loci are robust to differences in ancestry when sufficiently large samples sizes are investigated, and that ancestry-specific associations also contribute to the complex genetic architecture of asthma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detectable clonal mosaicism from birth to old age and its relationship to cancer.

Cathy C. Laurie, +72 more
- 01 Jun 2012 -
TL;DR: Clonal mosaicism for large chromosomal anomalies (duplications, deletions and uniparental disomy) is detected using SNP microarray data from over 50,000 subjects recruited for genome-wide association studies to identify common deleted regions with genes previously associated with hematological cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI

The clinical features of the overlap between COPD and asthma

TL;DR: Subjects with COPD and asthma represent a relevant clinical population, with worse health-related quality of life, and experience more frequent and severe respiratory exacerbations despite younger age and reduced lifetime smoking history.
