Journal ArticleDOI
A family of cAMP-binding proteins that directly activate Rap1.
Hiroaki Kawasaki,Gregory M. Springett,Naoki Mochizuki,Shinichiro Toki,Mie Nakaya,Michiyuki Matsuda,David E. Housman,Ann M. Graybiel +7 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest the need to reformulate concepts of cAMP-mediated signaling to include direct coupling to Ras superfamily signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Activity of Rho-family GTPases during cell division as visualized with FRET-based probes
Hisayoshi Yoshizaki,Yusuke Ohba,Kazuo Kurokawa,Reina E. Itoh,Takeshi Nakamura,Naoki Mochizuki,Kazuo Nagashima,Michiyuki Matsuda +7 more
TL;DR: Two types of probes are added to monitor the activity balance between guanine nucleotide exchange factors and GTPase-activating proteins to visualize the complex spatio-temporal regulation of Rho-family GTPases during cell division.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulatory roles for APJ, a seven-transmembrane receptor related to angiotensin-type 1 receptor in blood pressure in vivo
Junji Ishida,Tatsuo Hashimoto,Tatsuo Hashimoto,Yasumi Hashimoto,Shiro Nishiwaki,Taku Iguchi,Shuichi Harada,Takeshi Sugaya,Hitomi Matsuzaki,Rie Yamamoto,Naotaka Shiota,Hideki Okunishi,Minoru Kihara,Satoshi Umemura,Fumihiro Sugiyama,Ken-ichi Yagami,Yoshitoshi Kasuya,Naoki Mochizuki,Akiyoshi Fukamizu +18 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that APJ exerts the hypotensive effect in vivo and plays a counterregulatory role against the pressor action of angiotensin II.
Journal ArticleDOI
SWAP-70 is a guanine-nucleotide-exchange factor that mediates signalling of membrane ruffling
Masahiro Shinohara,Yoh Terada,Akihiro Iwamatsu,Azusa Shinohara,Naoki Mochizuki,Maiko Higuchi,Yukiko Gotoh,Sayoko Ihara,Satoshi Nagata,Satoshi Nagata,Hiroshi Itoh,Yasuhisa Fukui,Rolf Jessberger +12 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that SWAP-70 is a new type of Rac-GEF which, independently of Ras, transduces signals from tyrosine kinase receptors to Rac.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cell type-specific regulation of RhoA activity during cytokinesis
Hisayoshi Yoshizaki,Yusuke Ohba,Maria Carla Parrini,Natalya G. Dulyaninova,Anne R. Bresnick,Naoki Mochizuki,Michiyuki Matsuda +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that in Rat1A cells RhoA activity remained suppressed during most of the cytokinesis, and the activity of Rac1 was suppressed during cytokineis and started increasing at the plasma membrane of polar sides before the abscission of the daughter cells in both HeLa and Rat 1A cells.
