Journal ArticleDOI
Humoral and circulating follicular helper T cell responses in recovered patients with COVID-19.
Jennifer A Juno,Hyon-Xhi Tan,Wen Shi Lee,Arnold Reynaldi,Hannah G. Kelly,Hannah G. Kelly,Kathleen M. Wragg,Robyn Esterbauer,Robyn Esterbauer,Helen E Kent,Helen E Kent,C. Jane Batten,Francesca L Mordant,Nicholas A Gherardin,Nicholas A Gherardin,Phillip Pymm,Phillip Pymm,Melanie H. Dietrich,Melanie H. Dietrich,Nichollas E. Scott,Wai-Hong Tham,Dale I. Godfrey,Dale I. Godfrey,Kanta Subbarao,Miles P. Davenport,Stephen J. Kent,Stephen J. Kent,Stephen J. Kent,Adam K. Wheatley,Adam K. Wheatley +29 more
TL;DR: It is found that S-specific antibodies, memory B cells and cTFH are consistently elicited after SARS-CoV-2 infection, demarking robust humoral immunity and positively associated with plasma neutralizing activity, suggesting that vaccines might require strategies to selectively target the most potent neutralizing epitopes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simultaneous Glycan-Peptide Characterization Using Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography and Parallel Fragmentation by CID, Higher Energy Collisional Dissociation, and Electron Transfer Dissociation MS Applied to the N-Linked Glycoproteome of Campylobacter jejuni
Nichollas E. Scott,Benjamin L. Parker,Angela Connolly,Jana Paulech,Alistair V.G. Edwards,Ben Crossett,Linda Falconer,Daniel Kolarich,Steven P. Djordjevic,Steven P. Djordjevic,Peter Højrup,Nicolle H. Packer,Martin R. Larsen,Stuart J. Cordwell,Stuart J. Cordwell +14 more
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that peptide-centric approaches coupled to novel mass spectrometric fragmentation techniques may be suitable for application to eukaryotic glycoproteins for simultaneous elucidation of glycan structures and peptide sequence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a General O-linked Protein Glycosylation System in Acinetobacter baumannii and Its Role in Virulence and Biofilm Formation
Jeremy A. Iwashkiw,Andrea Seper,Brent S. Weber,Nichollas E. Scott,Nichollas E. Scott,Evgeny Vinogradov,Chad W. Stratilo,Béla Reiz,Stuart J. Cordwell,Randy M. Whittal,Stefan Schild,Mario F. Feldman +11 more
TL;DR: Results together indicate that O-glycosylation in A. baumannii is required for full virulence and therefore represents a novel target for the development of new antibiotics.
Journal ArticleDOI
A common pathway for O-linked protein-glycosylation and synthesis of capsule in Acinetobacter baumannii.
Robert G. Lees-Miller,Jeremy A. Iwashkiw,Nichollas E. Scott,Andrea Seper,Evgeny Vinogradov,Stefan Schild,Mario F. Feldman +6 more
TL;DR: The discovery of a bifurcated pathway for O‐glycosylation and capsule synthesis not only provides insight into the biology of A. baumannii but also identifies potential novel candidates for intervention against this emerging pathogen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Site-Specific Glycan-Peptide Analysis for Determination of N-Glycoproteome Heterogeneity
Benjamin L. Parker,Morten Thaysen-Andersen,Nestor Solis,Nichollas E. Scott,Martin R. Larsen,Mark E. Graham,Nicolle H. Packer,Stuart J. Cordwell +7 more
TL;DR: A combined glycomics and glycoproteomics strategy was developed for the site-specific analysis of N-linked glycosylation heterogeneity from a complex mammalian protein mixture and allowed confident identification of 863 unique intact N- linked glycopeptides from 161 rat brain glycoproteinins.
