A comprehensive analysis of the epidemiology and clinical characteristics of anti-LRP4 in myasthenia gravis
Paraskevi Zisimopoulou,Panagiota Evangelakou,John Tzartos,Konstantinos Lazaridis,Vasiliki Zouvelou,Renato Mantegazza,Carlo Antozzi,Francesca Andreetta,Amelia Evoli,Feza Deymeer,Güher Saruhan-Direskeneli,Hacer Durmus,Talma Brenner,A. Vaknin,Sonia Berrih-Aknin,M. Frenkian Cuvelier,T. Stojkovic,M. DeBaets,Mario Losen,Pilar Martinez-Martinez,Kleopas A. Kleopa,Eleni Zamba-Papanicolaou,Tassos C. Kyriakides,Anna Kostera-Pruszczyk,Piotr Szczudlik,Beata Szyluk,Dragana Lavrnic,Ivana Basta,Stojan Peric,Chantal M. E. Tallaksen,Angelina H. Maniaol,Socrates J. Tzartos,Socrates J. Tzartos +32 more
TL;DR: A cell based assay (CBA) based on human LRP4 expressing HEK293 cells is developed, for the reliable and efficient detection of LRP 4 antibodies, which showed similar responses to published responses of AChR-MG rather than to MuSK-MG patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased γ‐globin gene expression in β‐thalassemia intermedia patients correlates with a mutation in 3′HS1
Adamantia Papachatzopoulou,Polynikis Kaimakis,Farzin Pourfarzad,Panagiotis G. Menounos,Panagiota Evangelakou,Panagoula Kollia,Frank Grosveld,George P. Patrinos +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the CH haplotypes are useful genetic determinants for β‐thalassemia major and intermedia patients, while the 3′HS1 (+179 C>T) mutation may have functional consequences in γ‐globin genes expression.
Case report Double seronegative myasthenia gravis with anti-LRP 4 antibodies
Vasiliki Zouvelou,Paraskevi Zisimopoulou,Michael Rentzos,Nikos Karandreas,Panagiota Evangelakou,Eleftherios Stamboulis,Socrates J. Tzartos +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report the presenting characteristics of two double seronegative myasthenic patients from Greece with anti-low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 4 antibodies (LRP4 Abs) shortly after disease onset.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of human AChR extracellular domain mutants with improved characteristics.
Konstantinos Lazaridis,Paraskevi Zisimopoulou,Petros Giastas,Kalliopi Bitzopoulou,Panagiota Evangelakou,Anastasia Sideri,Socrates J. Tzartos,Socrates J. Tzartos +7 more
TL;DR: The mutants of the extracellular domains of the human α1, β1, δ and ε AChR subunits were created, whereby their Cys-loop was exchanged for that of the acetylcholine binding protein, resulting in improved solubility and higher expression yields.
