Imaging for precision medicine: can V‐P SPECT measure mepolizumab response in asthma?
Vanessa M. McDonald,Vanessa M. McDonald,Paola D. Urroz,Marika Bajc,Natalie Rutherford,Bree Brooker,Peter G. Gibson,Peter G. Gibson +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report a case series describing treatment response to mepolizumab in four severe asthma patients, assessed by traditional methods and with objective ventilation/perfusion single photon emission computed tomography (V-P SPECT).
Journal ArticleDOI
Airway monocyte modulation relates to tumour necrosis factor dysregulation in neutrophilic asthma.
Natalie M. Niessen,Natalie M. Niessen,Peter G. Gibson,Jodie L. Simpson,Hayley A. Scott,Katherine J. Baines,Michael Fricker,Michael Fricker +7 more
TL;DR: The results imply that increased sputum soluble TNF receptor levels observed in neutrophilic asthma relate to the increased recruitment of monocytes and neutrophils into the airways and their subsequent receptor shedding, and suggest an important contribution of airway monocytes to the altered inflammatory milieu in neutrophic asthma.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of asthma control on psychosocial outcomes for pregnant women with asthma
Leonie Burgess,Kirsten McCaffery,Heather M. Powell,Vanessa E. Murphy,Peter G. Gibson,Robin M. Turner +5 more
