Detection of z ∼ 2.3 Cosmic Voids from 3D Lyα Forest Tomography in the COSMOS Field
Alex Krolewski,Khee-Gan Lee,Martin White,Martin White,Joseph F. Hennawi,David J. Schlegel,Peter Nugent,Peter Nugent,Zarija Lukić,Casey W. Stark,Anton M. Koekemoer,Olivier Le Fèvre,Brian C. Lemaux,Brian C. Lemaux,Christian Maier,R. Michael Rich,Mara Salvato,Lidia Tasca +17 more
TL;DR: Krolewski et al. as discussed by the authors used a 3D tomographic map of the absorption with an effective comoving spatial resolution of 2.5 h -1 Mpc and a volume of 3.15 105 h -3 Mpc.
Journal ArticleDOI
Type ii-p supernovae as standard candles: the sdss-ii sample revisited
TL;DR: In this article, the authors revisited the observed correlation between the H{beta} and Fe II velocities for Type II-P supernovae using 28 optical spectra of 13 SNe II-Ps and demonstrate that it is well modeled by a linear relation with a dispersion of about 300 km s{sup -1}.

TL;DR: Quantitative comparison between Type Ia supernova spectra at low and high redshifts: A case study as mentioned in this paper was conducted to compare the supernova spectrum at different levels of redshift.
Journal ArticleDOI
HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE STUDIES OF NEARBY TYPE Ia SUPERNOVAE: THE MEAN MAXIMUM LIGHT ULTRAVIOLET SPECTRUM AND ITS DISPERSION
Jeff Cooke,Richard S. Ellis,Mark Sullivan,Peter Nugent,D. Andrew Howell,D. Andrew Howell,Avishay Gal-Yam,Chris Lidman,Joshua S. Bloom,S. Bradley Cenko,Mansi M. Kasliwal,Shrinivas R. Kulkarni,Nicholas M. Law,Eran O. Ofek,Robert M. Quimby +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first results of an ongoing campaign using the STIS spectrograph on board the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), whose primary goal is the study of near-ultraviolet (UV) spectra of local Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), were presented.
