Journal ArticleDOI

Andean potato cultivars (Solanum tuberosum L.) as a source of antioxidant and mineral micronutrients.

TL;DR: Principal component analysis on the studied nutritional contents of the core collection revealed that most potato genotypes were balanced in terms of antioxidant and mineral contents, but some of them could be distinguished by their high level in distinct micronutrients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Ferrous Iron Toxicity on the Growth and Mineral Composition of an Interspecific Rice

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of high applied ferrous iron concentrations on the growth and mineral composition of the tissue of an interspecific rice, Oryza sativa L. x oryza glaberrima Steud.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined transcriptomic and physiological approaches reveal strong differences between short- and long-term response of rice (Oryza sativa) to iron toxicity

TL;DR: It was showed that short- and long-term exposure involved a very different response in gene expression regarding both the number and function, and a larger number of genes were up- or down-regulated after 3 d than after 3 weeks of iron treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of iron toxicity on osmotic potential, osmolytes and polyamines concentrations in the African rice (Oryza glaberrima Steud.)

TL;DR: Iron treatment stimulated ethylene biosynthesis to a higher extent in TOG 7105 than in IRGC 104047, thus suggesting that iron exclusion could be an efficient mechanism of iron resistance in African rice.
