Transfer Learning with Dynamic Distribution Adaptation.

TL;DR: It is shown that marginal and conditional distributions have different contributions to the domain divergence, and the proposed Dynamic Distribution Adaptation (DDA) is able to provide good quantitative evaluation of their relative importance, which leads to better performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bridging Domains Using World Wide Knowledge for Transfer Learning

TL;DR: This paper designs a novel transfer learning approach, called BIG (Bridging Information Gap), to effectively extract useful knowledge in a worldwide knowledge base, which is then used to link the source and target domains for improving the classification performance.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Transfer learning for activity recognition via sensor mapping

TL;DR: A transfer learning framework based on automatically learning a correspondence between different sets of sensors to solve this transfer-learning in activity recognition problem is proposed and validated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Test-cost sensitive classification on data with missing values

TL;DR: This paper considers how to integrate test-cost-sensitive learning with the handling of missing values in a unified framework that includes model building and a testing strategy, and shows how to instantiate this framework in two popular machine learning algorithms: decision trees and naive Bayesian method.
