TL;DR: It is suggested that a systolic BP range of 120–130 mmHg is appropriate for most patients with CKD until the guidelines are formally revised, and some thoughts about what the future holds in light of the publication of the landmark Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial which enrolled a substantial number of nondiabetic chronic kidney disease patients.
