Journal ArticleDOI
The role of magnetic resonance imaging in the identification of suspected acoustic neuroma: a systematic review of clinical and cost effectiveness and natural history.
Heather Fortnum,Ciaran O'Neill,Rod S Taylor,R Lenthall,Thomas P. Nikolopoulos,G Lightfoot,Gerard M. O'Donoghue,S Mason,David M. Baguley,H. W. Jones,Caroline A. Mulvaney +10 more
TL;DR: It was concluded that a diagnostic algorithm that deploys non-contrast MR imaging as an initial imaging screen in the investigation of acoustic neuroma is less costly than and likely to be as effective as available contrast MR imaging.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Exercise Rehabilitation on Exercise Capacity and Quality-of-Life in Heart Failure: Individual Participant Meta-Analysis.
Rod S Taylor,Sarah Walker,Neil A. Smart,Massimo F Piepoli,Fiona C Warren,Oriana Ciani,Oriana Ciani,David J. Whellan,Christopher M. O'Connor,Steven J. Keteyian,Andrew J.S. Coats,Constantinos H. Davos,Hasnain M Dalal,Hasnain M Dalal,Kathleen Dracup,Lorraine S. Evangelista,Kate Jolly,Jonathan Myers,Birgitta Blakstad Nilsson,Claudio Passino,Miles D. Witham,Gloria Y. Yeh +21 more
TL;DR: The results of an IPD meta-analysis of randomized trials confirm the benefit of ExCR on HRQoL and exercise capacity and support the Class I recommendation of current international clinical guidelines that ExCR should be offered to all HF patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
School-based secondary prevention programmes for preventing violence.
TL;DR: School-based secondary prevention programmes to reduce aggressive behaviour appear to produce improvements in behaviour greater than would have been expected by chance, and benefits can be achieved in both primary and secondary school age groups and in both mixed sex groups and boys-only groups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Guided self-help concreteness training as an intervention for major depression in primary care: a Phase II randomized controlled trial
Edward R. Watkins,Rod S Taylor,Richard Byng,Céline Baeyens,R Read,Katherine A. Pearson,Lynn A. Watson +6 more
TL;DR: Preliminary evidence that CNT guided self-help may be a useful addition to TAU in treating major depression in primary care is provided, although the effect was not significantly different from an existing active treatment matched for structural and common factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology of refractory neuropathic pain.
TL;DR: The future prioritization by healthcare policy makers for neuropathic pain treatment funding requires further data to clarify its epidemiology, the burden on the health of patients, and the demand on healthcare budgets.
