Exploration of the Evidence
TL;DR: To assess the current evidence basis for refractory neuropathic pain, a comprehensive search was undertaken for systematic reviews of pharmacological interventions and interventional procedures (ie, spinal cord stimulation, therapeutic blocks, radiofrequency procedures, and surgery).
Journal ArticleDOI

School based violence prevention programmes: systematic review of secondary prevention trials
TL;DR: School-based violence prevention programs may produce reductions in aggressive and violent behaviors in children who already exhibit such behavior, however, these results need to be confirmed in large, high-quality trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Persistent postoperative pain and healthcare costs associated with instrumented and non-instrumented spinal surgery: a case-control study
Sharada Weir,Mihail Samnaliev,Tzu-Chun Kuo,Travis S. Tierney,Andrea Manca,Rod S Taylor,Julie Bruce,Sam Eldabe,David R. S. Cumming +8 more
TL;DR: Although there is a not insubstantial risk of ongoing pain following spine surgery, with 1-in-5 patients experiencing PPP within 2 years of surgery, the underlying indications for surgical modality and related choice of surgical procedure do not, by itself, appear to be a driving factor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multicentred randomised controlled trial of an augmented exercise referral scheme using web-based behavioural support in individuals with metabolic, musculoskeletal and mental health conditions: protocol for the e-coachER trial.
Wendy Ingram,Douglas Webb,Rod S Taylor,Nana Anokye,Lucy Yardley,Lucy Yardley,Kate Jolly,Nanette Mutrie,John Campbell,Sarah Dean,Colin J Greaves,Mary Steele,Jeffrey D Lambert,Chloe McAdam,Ben Jane,Jennie King,Ray Jones,Paul Little,Anthony D. Woolf,Jo Erwin,Nigel Charles,Rohini Terry,Adrian H. Taylor +22 more
TL;DR: This study aims to determine whether augmenting usual ERS with web-based behavioural support, based on the LifeGuide platform, will increase long-term physical activity for patients with chronic physical and mental health conditions, and is cost-effective.
