Journal ArticleDOI

Type 1 interleukin-1 receptor in the rat brain: distribution, regulation, and relationship to sites of IL-1-induced cellular activation.

TL;DR: The common expression in both species of an IL‐1R in non‐neuronal elements highlights the possibility thatIL‐1‐mediated activation of CRF neurons may result from cytokine‐receptor interaction at vascular, and/or other barrier‐related, sites to trigger release of secondary signalling molecules in a position to interact with components of HPA control circuitry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differential regulation of microRNA stability

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that although most miRNA appear to be stable, like mRNAs, miRNAs possess differential stability in human cells and it is found that miR-382, a miRNA that contributes to HIV-1 provirus latency, is unstable in cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toll‐like receptor (TLR)‐2 and TLR‐4 regulate inflammation, gliosis, and myelin sparing after spinal cord injury

TL;DR: Test whether TLRs are regulated after sterile spinal cord injury (SCI) and their effects on functional and anatomical recovery suggest that in the absence of pathogens, TLR2 and TLR4 are important for coordinating post‐injury sequelae and perhaps in regulating inflammation and gliosis after SCI.
Journal ArticleDOI

In Vivo Pharmacokinetics and Regulation of Gene Expression Profiles by Isothiocyanate Sulforaphane in the Rat

TL;DR: This in vivo study of Sulforaphane provides the first clue as to the plasma concentrations of SUL, in vivo mitogen-activated protein kinase activations in rat livers, as well as what other genes are modulated in addition to phase II detoxifying genes.
