Surface-Passivated AlGaN Nanowires for Enhanced Luminescence of Ultraviolet Light Emitting Diodes

TL;DR: In this paper, an effective method to suppress undesirable surface recombination of the AlGaN nanowires via diluted potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution, a commonly used chemical process in semiconductor fabrication, was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Valence and conduction band offsets of β-Ga2O3/AlN heterojunction

TL;DR: In this paper, a very thin β-Ga2O3 layer was deposited on an AlN/sapphire template to form the heterojunction by pulsed laser deposition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inverse design of plasmonic metasurfaces by convolutional neural network.

TL;DR: The convolutional neural network is demonstrated as an inverse design tool to achieve high numerical accuracy in plasmonic metasurfaces and a comparison of the convolutionian neural networks and the fully connected neural networks show that convolutionic neural networks have higher generalization capabilities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Graded-Index Separate Confinement Heterostructure AlGaN Nanowires: Toward Ultraviolet Laser Diodes Implementation

TL;DR: In this article, a novel nanowire structure adopting a graded-index separate confinement heterostructure (GRINSCH) in which the active region is sandwiched between two compositionally graded AlGaN layers, namely, a GRINSCH diode, is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lateral‐Polarity Structure of AlGaN Quantum Wells: A Promising Approach to Enhancing the Ultraviolet Luminescence

TL;DR: In this paper, the NIMTE authors acknowledge the support of the National Key Research and Development Program of China (Grant No. 2016YFB0400802), the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Open project of Zhejiang Key Laboratory for Advanced Microelectronic Intelligent Systems and Applications (Open project No. 61704176), and the KAUST Baseline Baseline BAS/1/1664-01-01, OCRF-2014-CRG3-6214038.
