Cation assisted binding and cleavage of dinitrogen by uranium complexes

TL;DR: The role of alkali promoters in N2 cleavage by metal complexes remains poorly understood despite its relevance to the industrial production of ammonia from N2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nitride Protonation and NH3 Binding versus N‒H Bond Cleavage in Uranium Nitrides

TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study of the reactions of H+ and NH3 with uranium nitrides, containing different types of ancillary ligands, has been conducted, showing that the differences in ancillaries, leading to dramatically different reactivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure and Reactivity of N-Heterocyclic Alkynyl Hypervalent Iodine Reagents

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of new N-heterocyclic hypervalent iodine reagents with increased structural flexibility based on amide, amidine and sulfoximine scaffolds is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hexayne Amphiphiles and Bolaamphiphiles.

TL;DR: This work reports a universal synthetic approach towards both symmetric and unsymmetric functionalized hexaynes through the use of a modified Eglinton-Galbraith coupling and a sacrificial building block and demonstrates the versatility of this approach by preparing hexayne functionalized with phosphonic acid, carboxylic acid, ammonium, or thiol head groups.
