Carlo,Angel Mwiche,Melody Chiwila,Albert Manasyan,Sayury Pineda,Sreelatha Meleth,Vanessa Thorsten,Kristen Stolka,Dennis Wallace,Marion Koso-Thomas,Alan H. Jobe,Pierre Buekens +46 more
TL;DR: Despite increased use of antenatal corticosteroids in low-birthweight infants in the intervention groups, neonatal mortality did not decrease in this group, and increased in the population overall, and the risk of maternal infection seems to have been increased.

A multi-faceted intervention including antenatal corticosteroids to reduce neonatal mortality associated with preterm birth: a case study from the Guatemalan Western Highlands
Ana Garces,Elizabeth M. McClure,Lester Figueroa,Sayury Pineda,K. M. Hambidge,Nancy F. Krebs,Vanessa Thorsten,Dennis Wallace,Fernando Althabe,Robert L. Goldenberg +9 more
TL;DR: The combination of improved care and greater ACS use may potentially account for the observed difference in neonatal mortality between the intervention and control clusters in Guatemala during the ACT trial.
