International standards to document remaining autonomic function after spinal cord injury
M S Alexander,Fin Biering-Sørensen,Donald R. Bodner,Nancy L. Brackett,Diana D. Cardenas,Susan Charlifue,Graham H. Creasey,Volker Dietz,John F. Ditunno,William H. Donovan,Stacy Elliott,Irene M. Estores,Daniel E. Graves,B. Green,A. Gousse,Amie B. Jackson,Michael J. Kennelly,Ann Katrin Karlsson,Andrei V. Krassioukov,K Krogh,T. Linsenmeyer,Ralph J. Marino,Christopher J. Mathias,Inder Perkash,Andrew William Sheel,G. Shilero,Brigitte Schurch,Jens Sønksen,Steven A. Stiens,Jill M. Wecht,L. A. Wuermser,J J Wyndaele +31 more
TL;DR: Based upon current knowledge of the neuroanatomy of autonomic function this paper provides a framework with which to communicate the effects of specific spinal cord injuries on cardiovascular, broncho-pulmonary, sudomotor, bladder, bowel and sexual function.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of spinal cord injury on sexual function: Concerns of the general population
TL;DR: Sexual function and its resultant impact on QoL is a major issue to an overwhelming majority of people living with SCI, and certainly constitutes the need for expanding research in multiple aspects to develop future therapeutic interventions for sexual health and SCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Prostate Cancer: Recommendations to Improve Patient and Partner Quality of Life
Stacy Elliott,David M. Latini,David M. Latini,Lauren M. Walker,Richard J. Wassersug,John W. Robinson +5 more
TL;DR: It is hoped that this plan will serve as a guide for optimizing how ADT is carried out and improve the lives of androgen-deprived men and their intimate partners.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autonomic dysreflexia during sperm retrieval in spinal cord injury: influence of lesion level and sildenafil citrate.
TL;DR: It is shown that men with cervical injuries had more pronounced AD during penile vibratory stimulation than men with thoracic injuries, and administration of sildenafil citrate had no effect on heart rate or blood pressure duringPenile vibratories stimulation in men with spinal cord injury.
Journal ArticleDOI
Malignant autonomic dysreflexia in spinal cord injured men.
TL;DR: It is suggested that a combination of strong triggers such as ejaculation and bladder or colono-rectal irritation with total loss of descending autonomic control to the spinal sympathetic circuits could contribute to the unusual manifestation of AD.
