Tailored disorder: a self-organized photonic contact for light trapping in silicon-based tandem solar cells

TL;DR: A process development leading to efficient rear side light trapping structures with the purpose of enhancing the infrared response of a silicon-based tandem solar cell is presented, making use of phase separation effects of two immiscible polymers, polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate), resulting in a non-periodicpolystyrene structure on silicon with a well-defined size distribution.

Local P-Type Back Surface Fields Via Laser Chemical Processing (LCP): First Experiments

TL;DR: In this paper, the first experiments as a proof-of-concept for p-type doping with laser chemical processing (LCP) have been conducted and it has been shown that local back surface fields have been formed.
Book ChapterDOI

SiO2-passivated High Efficiency Silicon Solar Cells: Process Dependence of Si-SiO2 Interface Recombination

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of varying postmetallization annealing time and temperature, oxidation temperature and ambient as well as the surface morphology is investigated in comparison of simultaneously processed MOS test structures and solar cells.

Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur selektiven Kontaktierung von Solarzellen

Ralf Preu, +1 more
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrophobic AlOx Surfaces by Adsorption of a SAM on Large Areas for Application in Solar Cell Metallization Patterning.

TL;DR: In this article, a self-passivated Al layer is used as a mask during the plating process, which is further functionalized by self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of octadecyl phosphonic acid (ODPA), which allows reproducible patterning of narrow lines by inkjet printing of an etchant.
