Weisenburger,Martha S. Linet,Joshua N. Sampson +93 more
TL;DR: Using a novel approach to investigate etiologic heterogeneity among NHL subtypes, risk factors that were common among subtypes as well as risk factors that appeared to be distinct among individual or a few subtypes are identified, suggesting both subtype-specific and shared underlying mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endocrine tumors of the pancreas: Ki-67 immunoreactivity on paraffin sections is an independent predictor for malignancy: A comparative study with proliferating-cell nuclear antigen and progesterone receptor protein immunostaining, mitotic index, and other clinicopathologic variables
Giuseppe Pelosi,Enrica Bresaola,Giuseppe Bogina,Felice Pasini,Stefania Rodella,Paola Castelli,Calogero Iacono,Giovanni Serio,Giuseppe Zamboni +8 more
TL;DR: Although univariate analysis showed that Ki-67, PCNA, mitotic and PgRP indexes, stage, immunoreactivity for hormones other than insulin, diameter, and nonfunctioning type of tumor were statistically correlated to survival, Cox's regression method let only Ki- 67 index emerge as an independent predictor of survival using a cutoff value of 5% in both FT and NFT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wood dust and sino-nasal cancer: pooled reanalysis of twelve case-control studies
Paul A. Demers,Paul A. Demers,Manolis Kogevinas,Manolis Kogevinas,Paolo Boffetta,Annette Leclerc,Danièle Luce,Michel Gérin,Guiseppe Battista,Stefano Belli,Ulrich Bolm-Audorf,Louise A. Brinton,Didier Colin,Pietro Comba,Lennart Hardell,Richard B. Hayes,Corrado Magnani,Enzo Merler,Jean-François Morcet,Susan Preston-Martin,Elena Matos,Stefania Rodella,Thomas L. Vaughan,Wei Zheng,Harri Vainio +24 more
TL;DR: Support is provided to the association between exposure to wood dust in a variety of occupations and the risk of sino-nasal adenocarcinoma and are consistent with the results of individual participating studies, although the magnitude of the excess risk varied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Haematopoietic cancer and medical history: a multicentre case control study.
Paolo Vineis,Paolo Crosignani,Carlotta Sacerdote,Arabella Fontana,Giovanna Masala,Lucia Miligi,Oriana Nanni,Valerio Ramazzotti,Stefania Rodella,Emanuele Stagnaro,Rosario Tumino,C. Viganò,Carla Vindigni,Adele Seniori Costantini +13 more
TL;DR: A unifying theory on the mechanisms by which previous medical history may increase the risk of haematolymphopoietic malignancies is still lacking and an association with malaria at young age and “low grade” lymphatic malignancy is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Occupational, environmental, and life-style factors associated with the risk of hematolymphopoietic malignancies in women
Lucia Miligi,A. Seniori Costantini,Paolo Crosignani,Arabella Fontana,Giovanna Masala,Oriana Nanni,Valerio Ramazzotti,Stefania Rodella,Emanuele Stagnaro,Rosario Tumino,C. Viganò,Carla Vindigni,Paolo Vineis +12 more
TL;DR: These results confirm previous associations and may provide additional clues to some determinants of hematolymphopoietic malignancies in women.
