Exciton–exciton annihilation and biexciton stimulated emission in graphene nanoribbons

TL;DR: It is shown that in the high-excitation regime biexcitons are formed by nonlinear exciton–exciton annihilation, and that they radiatively recombine via stimulated emission, in very good agreement with theoretical results from quantum Monte Carlo simulations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast insulator-to-metal phase transition as a switch to measure the spectrogram of a supercontinuum light pulse

TL;DR: In this paper, the temporal and spectral structure (spectrogram) of a complex light pulse exploiting the ultrafast switching character of a nonthermal photoinduced phase transition is demonstrated. But the method is limited to femtosecond near-infrared laser pulses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical parametric amplification by monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides

TL;DR: In this article, a single-pass optical parametric amplification at the ultimate thickness limit was demonstrated using semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides, where an optical signal is amplified by a pump via the generation of an idler field.
