Journal ArticleDOI
Temporal integration of auxin information for the regulation of patterning
Carlos S. Galvan-Ampudia,Guillaume Cerutti,Jonathan Legrand,Géraldine Brunoud,Raquel Martin-Arevalillo,Romain Azaïs,Vincent Bayle,Steven Moussu,Christian Wenzl,Yvon Jaillais,Jan U. Lohmann,Christophe Godin,Teva Vernoux +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used quantitative imaging to demonstrate that auxin carries high-definition graded information not only in space but also in time, and they showed that during organogenesis, temporal patterns of auxin arise from rhythmic centrifugal waves of high auxin travelling through the tissue faster than growth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endosperm breakdown in Arabidopsis requires heterodimers of the basic helix-loop-helix proteins ZHOUPI and INDUCER OF CBP EXPRESSION 1
Grégoire Denay,Audrey Creff,Steven Moussu,Pauline Wagnon,Johanne Thévenin,Johanne Thévenin,Marie-France Gérentes,Pierre Chambrier,Bertrand Dubreucq,Bertrand Dubreucq,Gwyneth C. Ingram +10 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that the ZOU/ICE1 complex might have ancient origins, acquiring novel megagametophyte-specific functions in heterosporous land plants that were conserved in the angiosperm endosperm.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural basis for recognition of RALF peptides by LRX proteins during pollen tube growth.
Steven Moussu,Caroline Broyart,Gorka Santos-Fernandez,Sebastian Augustin,Sarah Wehrle,Ueli Grossniklaus,Julia Santiago +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that RALF peptides fold into bioactive, disulfide bond-stabilized proteins that bind the LRR domain of LRX proteins with low nanomolar affinity, which enables cell-wall remodeling and pollen tube growth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Perception of a divergent family of phytocytokines by the Arabidopsis receptor kinase MIK2.
Jack Rhodes,Huanjie Yang,Steven Moussu,Freddy Boutrot,Julia Santiago,Cyril Zipfel,Cyril Zipfel +6 more
TL;DR: The authors showed that MIK2 is required for resistance to the important root pathogen Fusarium oxysporum and showed that the SCOOP12 peptide directly binds MIK 2 and triggers complex formation between MIK and the BRASSINOSTEROID INSENSITIVE 1-ASSOCIATED KINASE 1 (BAK1) co-receptor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Temporal and spatial expression of polygalacturonase gene family members reveals divergent regulation during fleshy fruit ripening and abscission in the monocot species oil palm.
Peerapat Roongsattham,Fabienne Morcillo,Chatchawan Jantasuriyarat,Maxime Pizot,Steven Moussu,Dasuni Jayaweera,Myriam Collin,Zinnia H. González-Carranza,Philippe Amblard,James W. Tregear,Somvong Tragoonrung,Jean-Luc Verdeil,Timothy John Tranbarger +12 more
TL;DR: The expression pattern of EgPG4 is consistent with the temporal and spatial requirements for cell separation to occur during oil palm fruit shedding, suggesting functional divergence underlying the ripening and abscission processes has occurred between these two fruit species.
