Multi-walled carbon nanotubes doped Poly(Methyl MethAcrylate) microfiber for relative humidity sensing
Naimah Mat Isa,Ninik Irawati,Sulaiman Wadi Harun,Fauzan Ahmad,Husna Abdul Rahman,Mohd Hanapiah M. Yusoff +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) doped poly(Methyl MethAcrylate) (PMMA) microfiber was proposed and demonstrated for relative humidity sensing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Q-switched and mode-locked thulium doped fiber lasers with nickel oxide film saturable absorber
Muhammad Farid Mohd Rusdi,A.H.A. Rosol,M.F.A. Rahman,M.F.A. Rahman,M. B. H. Mahyuddin,Anas Abdul Latiff,Harith Ahmad,Sulaiman Wadi Harun,Moh. Yasin +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a passively Q-switched and mode-locked fiber laser based on thulium-doped fiber laser (TDFL) cavity was demonstrated utilizing nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles as a saturable absorber.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of a fiber optic humidity sensor based on agarose gel
Malathy Batumalay,Sulaiman Wadi Harun,Fauzan Ahmad,Roslan Md Nor,N.R. Zulkepely,Harith Ahmad +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an optical fiber humidity sensor was fabricated using a hydrophilic gel (agarose) deposited on the tapered plastic optical fiber (POF), which can absorb and exude moisture from/to the ambience and changing its ability to modulate the intensity of light that propagates through the fiber.
Journal ArticleDOI
Generation of Q-switched and mode-locked pulses with Eu2O3 saturable absorber
N.F. Zulkipli,A.A.A. Jafry,Retna Apsari,F.S.M. Samsamnun,Malathy Batumalay,Muhammad Imran Mustafa Abdul Khudus,Hamzah Arof,Hamzah Arof,Sulaiman Wadi Harun,Sulaiman Wadi Harun +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Europium Oxide (Eu2O3) is used as a saturable absorber to produce Q-switched and mode-locked pulses in an erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) cavity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) in MoS2- and WS2-Protected Titanium Side-Polished Optical Fiber as a Humidity Sensor
Rozalina Zakaria,Nur Aina’a Mardhiah Zainuddin,Tan Chee Leong,Rosnadiya Rosli,Muhammad Farid Mohd Rusdi,Sulaiman Wadi Harun,Iraj Sadegh Amiri +6 more
TL;DR: The findings show that MoS2 shows more sensitivity on 36-nm thickness of Ti compared with WS2, therefore, the proposed fiber-optic sensor with integration of 2D materials is capable of measuring humidity in any environment.
