S-band multiwavelength Brillouin/Raman distributed Bragg reflector fiber lasers
Mohd Zamani Zulkifli,Harith Ahmad,Jaffar Mohamed Taib,F.D. Muhammad,Kaharudin Dimyati,Sulaiman Wadi Harun +5 more
TL;DR: A multiwavelength Brillouin/Raman distributed Bragg reflector fiber laser operating in the S-band region is proposed and demonstrated and shows little to no fluctuations over a monitoring period of 50 min.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alloying aluminum with Fe using laser induced plasma technique
TL;DR: In this article, a new surface modification technique using laser induced plasma (LIP) to increase the hardness of the surface layer has been demonstrated and the results show that the alloyed surface is 3 times as hard as the un-treated surface and a single Fe alloyed aluminum surface is harder than the one formed by the mixture of Fe and Cu.
Journal ArticleDOI
Light backscattering (e.g. reflectance) by ZnO nanorods on tips of plastic optical fibres with application for humidity and alcohol vapour sensing
Muhammad Quisar Lokman,Hazli Rafis Abdul Rahim,Sulaiman Wadi Harun,G. Louis Hornyak,Waleed S. Mohammed +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new technique was proposed to extract the backscattered light by ZnO nanostructures, which was shown experimentally to sense moisture and alcohol vapours.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fabrication and characterization of high order filter based on resonance in hybrid multi-knots microfiber structure
TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid microfiber resonator was proposed for band-pass and band-stop filtering in fiber laser applications, which can be used as a bandpass and a bandstop filter.
