Ultrafast dynamics in the Lifshitz-type 5 d pyrochlore antiferromagnet Cd 2 Os 2 O 7

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the ultrafast dynamics of a prototype material showing a Lifshitz-type transition as a function of temperature and showed that the photoreflectivity shows a subpicosecond relaxation, followed by a featureless small offset.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental realization of atomically flat and Al O 2 -terminated LaAl O 3 (001) substrate surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple and efficient recipe was developed to optimize the surface structure in LaAlO${}_{3}$ (001) single crystal, a widely used substrate for growing perovskite oxide heterostructures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antiferromagnetic resonance in La2CuO4+y.

TL;DR: In this paper, Collins et al. showed that the resonance previously identified with the antiferromagnetic resonance (AFMR) in polycrystalline La{sub 2}CuO{sub 4+{ital y}} (R. T. Collins, {ital et} {ital al}., Phys. Rev. B 37, 5817 (1988)) is too strong to be compatible with a magnetic spinwave mode.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of growth temperature and oxygen pressure on the properties of heteroepitaxial ZnO thin films on sapphire (0001) substrates by pulsed laser deposition

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of growth temperature and O 2 pressure on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of heteroepitaxial ZnO thin films prepared by pulsed laser deposition on sapphire (0001) substrates was investigated.
