Journal ArticleDOI
Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using the seaweed Gracilaria birdiae and their antibacterial activity
Anderson Passos de Aragão,Taiane Maria de Oliveira,Patrick Veras Quelemes,Márcia Luana Gomes Perfeito,Maria Carvalho Araújo,Janaína de Araújo Sousa Santiago,Vinicius Saura Cardoso,Pedro Quaresma,José Roberto S. A. Leite,Durcilene Alves da Silva +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simple method for the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using as reducing and stabilizing agent a polysaccharide extracted from red algae Gracilaria birdiae present in the coast of Piaui was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibacterial application of natural and carboxymethylated cashew gum-based silver nanoparticles produced by microwave-assisted synthesis.
Felipe Bastos Araruna,Taiane Maria de Oliveira,Patrick Veras Quelemes,Alyne Rodrigues de Araújo Nobre,Alexandra Plácido,Andreanne G. Vasconcelos,Regina C.M. de Paula,Ana Carolina Mafud,Miguel Peixoto de Almeida,Cristina Delerue-Matos,Yvonne Primerano Mascarenhas,Peter Eaton,José Roberto S. A. Leite,Durcilene Alves da Silva +13 more
TL;DR: In both cases of the presence of CG and CCG, it was found that higher pH lead to more efficient conversion of silver nitrate to AgNPs with well dispersed, spherical and stable particles as well as low crystallinity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of antitumor potential of cashew gum extracted from Anacardium occidentale Linn.
A.B. Barros,A.F. Moura,Durcilene Alves da Silva,Taiane Maria de Oliveira,Francisco Stefânio Barreto,Wesley Lyeverton Correia Ribeiro,Ana Paula Negreiros Nunes Alves,Ana Carolina Justino de Araújo,M.O. Moraes Filho,Bruno Iles,Jand Venes R. Medeiros,J.D.B. Marinho-Filho +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that this polymer can assist in the anticancer activity and/or decrease the side effects of standard drugs used in treatment of cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Eschweilenol C in derivative of Terminalia fagifolia Mart. and green synthesis of bioactive and biocompatible silver nanoparticles
Alyne Rodrigues de Araújo,Joilson Ramos-Jesus,Taiane Maria de Oliveira,Andressa Maria Aguiar de Carvalho,Paulo Humberto Moreira Nunes,Tatiane Caroline Daboit,Ana P. Carvalho,M.F. Barroso,Miguel Peixoto de Almeida,Alexandra Plácido,Artur Rodrigues,Camila C. Portugal,Renato Socodato,João B. Relvas,Cristina Delerue-Matos,Durcilene Alves da Silva,Peter Eaton,José Roberto S. A. Leite,José Roberto S. A. Leite +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a green synthetic route was developed to prepare silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in aqueous solution for biological applications, which showed high levels of antioxidant and considerable antibacterial and antifungal activities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biopolymer Extracted from Anadenanthera colubrina (Red Angico Gum) Exerts Therapeutic Potential in Mice: Antidiarrheal Activity and Safety Assessment.
Thiago S.L. Araújo,Thiago S.L. Araújo,Taiane Maria de Oliveira,Nayara A. Sousa,Nayara A. Sousa,Luan Kelves Miranda de Souza,Luan Kelves Miranda de Souza,Francisca Beatriz M. Sousa,Francisca Beatriz M. Sousa,Ana Patrícia de Oliveira,Ana Patrícia de Oliveira,Lucas A.D. Nicolau,Alfredo A V da Silva,Alyne Rodrigues de Araújo,Pedro Jorge Caldas Magalhães,Daniel Fernando Pereira Vasconcelos,Daniel Fernando Pereira Vasconcelos,Hugo R. de Jonge,Marcellus H.L.P. Souza,Durcilene Alves da Silva,Durcilene Alves da Silva,Regina C.M. de Paula,Jand Venes R. Medeiros,Jand Venes R. Medeiros +23 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that RAG is a possible candidate for the treatment of diarrheal diseases and can interact with GM1 receptors and can also reduce E. coli-induced diarrhea in vivo.
