Multi-scale Modeling of Concrete Performance Integrated Material and Structural Mechanics
TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-scale modeling of structural concrete performance is presented as a systematic knowledge base of coupled cementitious composites and structural mechanics, and an integrated computational scheme is proposed for life-span simulation of reinforced concrete.
Book
Multi-scale modeling of structural concrete
TL;DR: In this article, the authors combine materials science with structural mechanics in the design and assessment of concrete structures and the techniques developed have become especially useful for the performance assessment of such structures under coupled mechanistic and environmental actions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does the ‘hikikomori’ syndrome of social withdrawal exist outside Japan? A preliminary international investigation
Takahiro A. Kato,Masaru Tateno,Naotaka Shinfuku,Daisuke Fujisawa,Alan R. Teo,Norman Sartorius,Tsuyoshi Akiyama,Tetsuya Ishida,Tae Young Choi,Yatan Pal Singh Balhara,Yatan Pal Singh Balhara,Ryohei Matsumoto,Wakako Umene-Nakano,Yota Fujimura,Anne P. F. Wand,Jane Pei-Chen Chang,Rita Yuan-Feng Chang,Behrang Shadloo,Helal Uddin Ahmed,Tiraya Lerthattasilp,Shigenobu Kanba +20 more
TL;DR: Patients with the hikikomori syndrome are perceived as occurring across a variety of cultures by psychiatrists in multiple countries, providing a rational basis for study of the existence and epidemiology of hikkomori in clinical or community populations in international settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adalimumab monotherapy and a combination with azathioprine for Crohn’s disease: A prospective, randomized trial
Takayuki Matsumoto,Satoshi Motoya,Kenji Watanabe,Tadakazu Hisamatsu,Hiroshi Nakase,Naoki Yoshimura,Tetsuya Ishida,Shingo Kato,T. Nakagawa,Motohiro Esaki,Masakazu Nagahori,Toshiyuki Matsui,Yuji Naito,Takanori Kanai,Yasuo Suzuki,Masanori Nojima,Mamoru Watanabe,Toshifumi Hibi +17 more
TL;DR: The clinical efficacy of a combination of adalimumab and azathioprine at WWeek 26 did not differ from that of ad alimumab monotherapy in patients with active Crohn's disease naïve to both medications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced modeling of moisture equilibrium and transport in cementitious materials under arbitrary temperature and relative humidity history
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors formulated an equilibrium relationship between liquid and vapor phases and a moisture flux driven by pore pressure, vapor pressure and temperature gradients, and proposed a modified hysteresis model for moisture isotherm.
