Luminescent complexes of Re(I) and Ru(II) with appended macrocycle groups derived from 5,6-dihydroxyphenanthroline: cation and anion binding.

TL;DR: A model for this is proposed which also accounts for the substantial increase in luminescence from [Ru(bipy)2L3]2+ (5-fold enhancement) when the second (H2PO4)- anion binds, and it is proposed that this changes are however irreversible on a long timescale and lead to slow decomposition.

TL;DR: Co-crystallisation of the anionic cyanometallate chromophore [Ru(bipy)(CN)4]2- with Yb(III) provides coordination polymers or oligomers containing Ru-CN-Yb bridges that results in partial quenching of the Ru-based luminescence and sensitised near-IR luminescent from the Yb (III) unit.

TL;DR: Ultraviolet-vis-NIR spectroelectrochemical measurements were performed in all five oxidation states; the Ru(II)-Ru(III) mixed-valence state of [1](-) has a strong IVCT transition at 2360 nm whose parameters give an electronic coupling constant of V(ab) approximately 1100 cm(-1), characteristic of a strongly interacting but localized (class II) Mixed-Valence state.

Ring A-seco mosquito larvicidal limonoids from Turraea wakefieldii.

TL;DR: Five novel limonoids, 1-5, were isolated from the root bark of Turraea wakefieldii and were characterized as tecleaninoid derivatives and showed dose-dependent larvicidal activity against larvae of Anopheles gambiae s.s.
