Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of cyclooxygenase inhibitors on ex vivo cysteinyl-leukotriene production by whole human blood allowed to clot spontaneously. Comparison to stimulated blood.

TL;DR: The data show that in the presence of therapeutic cyclooxygenase inhibitors no enhanced formation of cysteinyl-LT occurs in human blood in vitro after physiological stimuli such as contact activation of the clotting cascade or FMLP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Boswellic Acid Composition of Frankincense Dietary Supplements and Correlation to Cytotoxic Efficacy against Treatment-Resistant Triple Negative Breast Cancer Cells

TL;DR: Frankincense is an oleogum resin from Boswellia trees of the Burseraceae family that contains 15–20 % triterpenic acids, including therapeutically active boswellic acids.
Journal ArticleDOI

A role for the annexin A2 amino-terminal peptide in the plasmin-induced activation of human peripheral monocytes.

TL;DR: A2NP generated by plasmin cleavage of the annexin A2 heterotetramer could serve as a new proteolytically generated signaling molecule activating an associated transmembrane co-receptor, such as type I cytokine receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intravascular cysteinyl-leukotriene formation by clotting whole human blood. Evidence from clamped umbilical vein segments and thrombus specimens

TL;DR: The effects of the vascular wall on the eicosanoid formation by whole human blood is investigated and suggestive of intravascular cysteinyl-LT formation in thrombotic vessels is suggestive.
