TL;DR: Novel species of fungi described in this study include those from various countries as follows: Apiognomonia lasiopetali on Lasiopetalum sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phylogenetic relationships and new records of Asterinaceae (Dothideomycetes) from Panama

TL;DR: A combined SSU and LSU rDNA phylogenetic analysis shows that species of Asterina and its anamorphs form a well supported monophyletic clade within the Dothideomycetes with Venturiaceae as sistergroup.

Species richness of plants and fungi in western Panama: towards a fungal inventory in the tropics

TL;DR: The randomized species accumulation curve for plants approaches an asymptote and estimators yield stable values of 310–318 predicted plant species in the area of investigation, but the curve for records of fungal species did not saturate and all applied estimator functions failed to predict the total richness of fungi for the area convincingly.
