Semiconducting and passive film properties of nitrogen-containing type 316LN stainless steels
TL;DR: In this article, the nitrogen effect on the chemical composition of the passive films was investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, (XPS) based on capacitance results, the semiconducting parameters obtained from the Mott-Schottky plots indicated a decrease in the donor and acceptor density (ND and NA) with increase in nitrogen content, and variation in the flat band potential (EFB), depending on the electrolytic media.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of microstructure and alloying elements on corrosion behavior of Ti–13Nb–13Zr alloy
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of heat treatment on the corrosion behavior of Ti-13Nb-13Zr alloy in Ringer's solution was investigated using optical microscope, electron probe microanalysis and XRD techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Review on TiO2 Nanotubes: Influence of Anodization Parameters, Formation Mechanism, Properties, Corrosion Behavior, and Biomedical Applications
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of anodization parameters on the formation of tubes, tube dimensions, formation mechanism, properties of TiO2 nanotubes (TNT), and their applications in biomedical field are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Materials development and corrosion problems in nuclear fuel reprocessing plants
Baldev Raj,U. Kamachi Mudali +1 more
TL;DR: A broad-based materials development programme has been in progress worldwide towards the development of materials for applications in spent nuclear fuel reprocessing plants as mentioned in this paper, which has resulted in the development advanced materials like nitric acid grade (NAG) special austenitic stainless steels, Ti-5% Ta, Ti 5% Ta-1.8% Nb, Cr-W-Si, Nb-W, zirconium based alloys etc.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the pitting corrosion resistance of nitrogen alloyed cold worked austenitic stainless steels
TL;DR: Pitting corrosion studies were carried out on cold worked (5, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40%) nitrogen-bearing (0.05, 0.1% and 0.22% N) type 316L stainless steels in neutral chloride medium as mentioned in this paper.
