Temperature dependence of the NO3 loss frequency: A new indicator for the contribution of NO3 to the oxidation of monoterpenes and NOx removal in the atmosphere
A. Geyer,A. Geyer,Ulrich Platt +2 more
TL;DR: In this article, the seasonal variation of the contribution of NO3 to the atmospheric oxidation capacity and the removal of nitrogen oxides was quantified based on the different temperature dependences of the NO3 loss processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intercomparison of instruments for tropospheric measurements using differential optical absorption spectroscopy
Claude Camy-Peyret,B. Bergovist,Bo Galle,Michel Carleer,Cathy Clerbaux,R. Colin,Caroline Fayt,Florence Goutail,M. Nunes-Pinharanda,Jean-Pierre Pommereau,M. Hausmann,Ulrich Platt,I. Pundt,T. Rudolph,Christian Hermans,Paul C. Simon,Ann Carine Vandaele,John M. C. Plane,N. Smith +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of an intercomparison campaign of eight different long path UV-visible DOAS instruments measuring NO2, O3 and SO2 concentrations in a moderately polluted urban site are presented.
Book ChapterDOI
Remote Sensing of Glyoxal by Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS): Advancements in Simulation Chamber and Field Experiments
TL;DR: In this article, the photochemical transformation of primary pollutants like VOCs and NOx is linked with the formation of secondary pollutants including ozone (O3) and secondary organic aerosol (SOA).
Journal ArticleDOI
Tomographic multiaxis-differential optical absorption spectroscopy observations of Sun-illuminated targets: a technique providing well-defined absorption paths in the boundary layer.
TL;DR: It is shown that the partial trace gas absorptions between the top of the atmosphere and the target can be easily removed from the measured total absorption.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does iodine gas released from seaweed contribute to dietary iodine intake
Peter P.A. Smyth,Peter P.A. Smyth,Robert Burns,Ru-Jin Huang,T. Hoffman,K. Mullan,U. Graham,K. Seitz,Ulrich Platt,Colin D. O'Dowd +9 more
TL;DR: Gaseous iodine released over seaweed beds was measured by a new gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS)-based method and iodine intake assessed by measuring urinary iodine (UI) excretion supporting the hypothesis that iodine intake in coastal regions may be dependent on seaweed abundance rather than proximity to the sea.
