Partial pancreatoduodenectomy versus duodenum-preserving pancreatic head resection in chronic pancreatitis: the multicentre, randomised, controlled, double-blind ChroPac trial.

Markus K. Diener, +69 more
- 09 Sep 2017 -
TL;DR: The multicentre ChroPac trial as discussed by the authors investigated the long-term outcomes of patients with chronic pancreatitis within 24 months after surgery, measured with the physical functioning scale of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer QLQ-C30 questionnaire.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impairment of microcirculation in the early reperfusion period predicts the degree of graft pancreatitis in clinical pancreas transplantation.

TL;DR: The data show that the degree of organ damage in clinical pancreas transplantation is directly related to an impairment of microcirculation in the early reperfusion period, and support the idea that grafts from older donors have a higher probability to develop graft pancreatitis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional stomach analysis with computed tomography after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy: sleeve dilation and thoracic migration

TL;DR: Multislice computed tomography allows for a comprehensive and quantitative evaluation of the anatomy after LSG and thus provides new insights in the process of sleeve dilation and no correlation was found between gastric volume and excess weight loss.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time-resolved MRI after ingestion of liquids reveals motility changes after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy--preliminary results.

TL;DR: Dynamic analysis of stomach motility before and after Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy showed that antral propulsive peristalsis was preserved immediately after surgery and during follow-up, but fold speed increased significantly, and accelerated emptying seems to be caused by faster peristaltic folds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Outcome after Resection of Hepatic and Pulmonary Metastases of Colorectal Cancer

TL;DR: In selected patients with metastasized CRC resection of both hepatic and pulmonary metastases may improve survival rates or even provide long-term survival, as well as reveal lung as first metastatic site and as the sole significant independent factor for the outcome.
