Assessment of operational space for long-pulse scenarios in ITER

TL;DR: In this paper, the operational space (Ip − n) for long-pulse scenarios (Δtburn ~ 1000 s, Q ≥ 5) of ITER has been assessed by 1.5D core transport modelling with pedestal parameters predicted by the EPED1 code by a set of transport codes under a joint activity carried out by the Integrated Operational Scenario ITPA group.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tungsten impurity transport experiments in Alcator C-Mod to address high priority research and development for ITER

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that anomalous transport dominating tungsten transport in the central region of the Alcator C-Mod tokamak plasmas does not take place in these conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Integrated Simulations of H-mode Operation in ITER including Core Fuelling, Divertor Detachment and ELM Control

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived the ITER operational space, where ELM mitigation to avoid melting of the tungsten divertor monoblocks top surface is not required and appropriate control of W sources and radiation in the main plasma can be ensured through ELM control by pellet pacing.

Analysis of disruption scenarios and their possible mitigation in ITER

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived physics guidelines for the shortest current quench time and their waveforms as well as the product of halo fraction with toroidal peaking factor arising from disruptions in ITER.
