Journal ArticleDOI
A Polythiophene Derivative with Superior Properties for Practical Application in Polymer Solar Cells
TL;DR: A polythiophene derivative called PDCBT, which has a backbone of thiophene units and just carboxylate functional groups to modulate its properties, exhibits properties superior to those of poly(3-hexylthiopane), the classic polythyphene derivative, when used as an electron donor in polymer solar cells (PSCs).
Journal ArticleDOI
High Efficiency Nonfullerene Polymer Solar Cells with Thick Active Layer and Large Area
TL;DR: Results indicate that PTZ1 is a promising polymer donor material for highly efficient fullerene-free PSCs and large-scale devices fabrication.
Journal ArticleDOI
PDT-S-T: a new polymer with optimized molecular conformation for controlled aggregation and π-π stacking and its application in efficient photovoltaic devices.
TL;DR: The results show that more linear backbone structure is helpful to improve photovoltaic properties of the polymer, and therefore, molecular conformation should be considered for molecular design of photvoltaic polymers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Balanced Partnership between Donor and Acceptor Components in Nonfullerene Organic Solar Cells with >12% Efficiency
Yuze Lin,Fuwen Zhao,Shyamal K. K. Prasad,Jing-De Chen,Wanzhu Cai,Qianqian Zhang,Kai Chen,Yang Wu,Wei Ma,Feng Gao,Jian-Xin Tang,Chunru Wang,Wei You,Justin M. Hodgkiss,Xiaowei Zhan +14 more
TL;DR: Balancing photocurrent generation between the donor and nonfullerene acceptor removes undesirable constraints on the donor imposed by fullerene derivatives, opening a new avenue toward even higher efficiency for OSCs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of Processing Parameters and Molecular Weight on the Morphology and Properties of High‐Performance PffBT4T‐2OD:PC71BM Organic Solar Cells
Wei Ma,Guofang Yang,Guofang Yang,Kui Jiang,Joshua H. Carpenter,Yang Wu,Xiangyi Meng,Terry McAfee,Jingbo Zhao,Chenhui Zhu,Cheng Wang,Harald Ade,He Yan +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of various processing parameters and polymer molecular weight on the morphology and properties of poly[(5,6-difluoro-2,1,3-benzothiadiazol-4,7-diyl)] (PffBT4T-2OD)-based polymer solar cells (PSCs) are investigated.
