Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of a single fraction compared to multiple fractions on painful bone metastases: a global analysis of the Dutch Bone Metastasis Study
Elsbeth Steenland,J.W.H. Leer,Hans C. van Houwelingen,Wendy J. Post,Wilbert B. van den Hout,Job Kievit,Hanneke C. J. Journal ArticleDOI
Prolonged conservative care versus early surgery in patients with sciatica caused by lumbar disc herniation: two year results of a randomised controlled trial
TL;DR: Early surgery achieved more rapid relief of sciatica than conservative care, but outcomes were similar by one year and these did not change during the second year.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single- versus multiple-fraction radiotherapy in patients with painful bone metastases: cost-utility analysis based on a randomized trial.
Wilbert B. van den Hout,Yvette M. van der Linden,Elsbeth Steenland,Ruud Wiggenraad,Job Kievit,Hanneke C. J. M. de Haes,Jan Willem H. Leer +6 more
TL;DR: Compared with multiple-fraction radiotherapy, single-fractions radiotherapy provides equal palliation and quality of life and has lower medical and societal costs, at least in The Netherlands.
Journal ArticleDOI
