Chirality-specific growth of single-walled carbon nanotubes on solid alloy catalysts

TL;DR: It is shown that SWNTs of a single chirality, (12, 6), can be produced directly with an abundance higher than 92 per cent when using tungsten-based bimetallic alloy nanocrystals as catalysts, unlike other catalysts used so far, which have such high melting points that they maintain their crystalline structure during the chemical vapour deposition process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of Onion-Like NiCo2 S4 Particles via Sequential Ion-Exchange for Hybrid Supercapacitors.

TL;DR: With the structural and compositional advantages, these unique onion-like NiCo2 S4 particles exhibit enhanced electrochemical performance as an electrode material for hybrid supercapacitors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arrays of horizontal carbon nanotubes of controlled chirality grown using designed catalysts

TL;DR: It is shown that horizontal SWNT arrays with predicted chirality can be grown from the surfaces of solid carbide catalysts by controlling the symmetries of the active catalyst surface, enabling theChirality of as-grown SWNTs in an array to be tuned, and can be used to predict the growth conditions required to achieve the desired chiralities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electromechanical and ferroelectric properties of (Bi1∕2Na1∕2)TiO3–(Bi1∕2K1∕2)TiO3–BaTiO3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of amount of BKT on the electrical properties and crystal structure of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been studied, and the results showed that incorporated BKT diffuses into the BNT lattice to form a solid solution during sintering, but changes the crystal structure from rhombohedral to tetragonal symmetry at higher BKT amounts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbon emissions from land-use change and management in China between 1990 and 2010.

TL;DR: This work analyzes changes in vegetation and soil carbon storage between 1990 and 2010 resulting from combinations of land-use category conversion and management in China and highlights the importance of improving land- use management.
