TL;DR: There was association between (−16ins-Pro) haplotype with decreased risk of differentiated thyroid carcinoma development in Iranian-Azeri patients.
Abstract: Association of P53 polymorphisms with the increased risk of various cancers has been investigated in numerous studies. However, the results were conflicting and no polymorphism has been determined as a definite risk factor. It is likely that the study of P53 combined genotypes and haplotypes may be more useful than individual polymorphisms. Thus, in this study, we analyzed the associations of intron 3 Ins16bp and exon 4 Arg72Pro polymorphisms, as well as their combined genotypes and haplotypes with the risk of differentiated thyroid carcinoma in Iranian-Azeri patients. This case-control study was performed on 84 Iranian Azeri patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma and 150 healthy subjects. Intron 3 genotype was determined using PCR products analysis on polyacrylamide gels and AS-PCR was used for genotyping Arg72Pro polymorphism. The javastat online statistics package software and SHEsis program were applied for data analysis. There was no significant difference in genotype frequencies of both two polymorphisms between cases and controls. However, the (-16 ins/-16 ins) (Arg/Pro) genotype combination had a noticeable but not significant association with decreased risk of thyroid cancer development (OR = 0.497 95%CI: 0.209-1.168 P = 0.080) and also the frequency of (-16 ins-Pro) haplotype was significantly higher in controls rather than patients (OR = 0.543 95%CI: 0.326-0.903 P = 0.018). In our study, there was association between (-16 ins-Pro) haplotype with decreased risk of differentiated thyroid carcinoma development in Iranian-Azeri patients.

TL;DR: A large-update interior-point algorithm for linear optimization based on a new kernel function that has O(n^{\frac{3}{4}}\log\frac{n}{\epsilon})$ iteration complexity if a strictly feasible starting point is available.
Abstract: In this paper, we propose a large-update interior-point algorithm for linear optimization based on a new kernel function. New search directions and proximity measure are defined based on this kernel function. We show that if a strictly feasible starting point is available, then the new algorithm has $O(n^{\frac{3}{4}}\log\frac{n}{\epsilon})$ iteration complexity.

TL;DR: The synthesis of bis(1,2,4-oxadiazoles), 2-amino-5-chlorophenyl)(phenyl)methanone, and 2-mercapto benzoic acid in acetic acid by the reaction of diaminoglyoxime with various ketones and methyl 2-aminobenzoate.
Abstract: The synthesis of bis(1,2,4-oxadiazoles), 1,2,4-oxadiazolyl-quinazolines, and 1,2,4-oxadiazolyl-benzothiazinones has been investigated by the reaction of diaminoglyoxime with various ketones and methyl 2-aminobenzoate, 2-amino-5-chlorophenyl)(phenyl)methanone, and 2-mercapto benzoic acid in acetic acid either a catalyst or solvent at 100 $$^{\circ }$$

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered a multidimensional cosmological model with FRW type metric having 4-dimensional space-time and d-dimensional Ricci-flat internal space sectors with a higher dimension.
Abstract: We consider a multidimensional cosmological model with FRW type metric having 4-dimensional space-time and d-dimensional Ricci-flat internal space sectors with a higher dimensional cosmological constant. We study the classical cosmology in commutative and GUP cases and obtain the corresponding exact solutions for negative and positive cosmological constants. It is shown that for negative cosmological constant, the commutative and GUP cases result in finite size universes with smaller size and longer ages, and larger size and shorter age, respectively. For positive cosmological constant, the commutative and GUP cases result in infinite size universes having late time accelerating behavior in good agreement with current observations. The accelerating phase starts in the GUP case sooner than the commutative case. In both commutative and GUP cases, and for both negative and positive cosmological constants, the internal space is stabilized to the sub-Planck size, at least within the present age of the universe. Then, we study the quantum cosmology by deriving the Wheeler-DeWitt equation, and obtain the exact solutions in the commutative case and the perturbative solutions in GUP case, to first order in the GUP small parameter, for both negative and positive cosmological constants. It is shown that good correspondence exists between the classical and quantum solutions.
