TL;DR: In this paper, LiCu3O3 cells with solid sulphate electrolytes can be discharged at current densities of 100 mA cm−2, significantly higher than the 1.5 V (versus lithium) found in ambient temperature lithium-copper oxide cells.

TL;DR: A technique is described for compensating for aircraft roll in dual antenna interferometric SAR from an airborne platform that does not rely on prior knowledge of the target scene, or input from an inertial navigation unit (INU).
Abstract: A technique is described for compensating for aircraft roll in dual antenna interferometric SAR from an airborne platform. The technique does not rely on prior knowledge of the target scene, or input from an inertial navigation unit (INU). The technique is tested on real data from the DRA's C-band interferometric SAR, which is fitted to an Andover aircraft, and the results are compared with output from a Litton-93 medium accuracy INU.

TL;DR: A mathematical model of the initiation of crevice corrosion of aluminum and its alloys in sea water has been developed in this paper, which successfully predicts the observations found in these tests with respect to initiation of attack.
Abstract: A mathematical model of the initiation of crevice corrosion of aluminum and its alloys in sea water has been developed. The mechanism of the process, which is fundamentally different to that for stainless steels, was established during the development of the model. Practical exposure tests have been carried out on alloys 1050A, 2024-T3, 5083, 6061, 6082 7010, 8090-T3 and 8090-T851 at DRA`s facilities in Portland Harbor, Weymouth, UK. The model successfully predicts the observations found in these tests with respect to initiation of attack. A simple empirical model of the propagation of attack based on the level of Cu and Zn in the alloy has also been developed. This shows reasonable correlation with the exposure test data.

TL;DR: In this article, phase-locked phase conjugation by Brillouin-induced four-wave mixing is investigated with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.
Abstract: Phase-locked phase conjugation by Brillouin-induced four-wave mixing is experimentally investigated with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. Results are presented for reflectivity, phase-locking fidelity, and the effect of beam misalignment. The reflectivity data is compared with steady-state theory. It is found that spatial pattern formation can occur in this four-wave mixing geometry.

TL;DR: An attempt to bridge the large gap between making sparse three-dimensional measurements of static scene structure, and achieving a useful level of understanding of that structure and the need to know where in the scene it is safe to drive is described.
